July 2012 Empties

How on earth are these months rolling around so quickly? Honestly, it doesn't feel like a whole month ago I was writing my last empties post.

Yet again this month, I felt like I didn't use that much up until I opened my basket and saw I had accumulated quite a bit!

  • Tresemme Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo - I love this stuff, it is so much better than Batiste in my opinion. It is less chalky and it disappears in to the hair a lot easier. It also smells nice and fresh! Have already repurchased this.
  • Jergens Naturals Acai Berry Body Moisturiser - this was a pleasant enough moisturiser with an interesting gel-like texture that was nice and light for the hot weather, however I began to hate the scent after repetitive use. Won't be repurchasing this.
  • Aveda Brillant Shampoo - can't say enough good things about this shampoo, it is definitely one of my favourites. It makes my hair squeaky clean and adds a little shine to it. I will probably repurchase this in the future but right now I'm enjoying my Kerastase shampoo.
  • Soap and Glory Clean On Me Shower Gel - I'm a huge fan of anything Soap and Glory so it's no surprise that I enjoyed using this product. At £5 for a huge 500ml bottle I think it is very decently priced, however it did take me SO long to use it all up!
  • Imperial Leather Foam Burst Moisture Plus - I love these mini Foam Burst's for travel and this scent is absolutely gorgeous. My skin is a little sensitive so I've also enjoyed using this at home when I shave my legs. I'm sad to say they've discontinued these miniatures though so I won't be repurchasing - boo!
  • Kerastase Chroma Riche Hair Mask - this is an all time favourite of mine, I'm so sad to have run out of it, will definitely repurchase this ASAP!

Favourite Fake Tanners

This morning I woke up super early, so I decided to put my time to good use and filmed a video for you all! Having been using fake tanners a lot the past few weeks I decided I would talk about some of my favourites.

Hope you enjoyed. Any requests, please let me know!

Korres Jasmine Lip Butter

Something I have been really loving this week is my Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine. I honestly couldn't wait until the weekend so I could blog about it - sad but true my blogging friends!
I picked up this lip butter in a New York Sephora for something like $12. I didn't think too much of it at the time, because let's face it - lip balms are lip balms at the end of the day. After hearing a lot of people talk about the Korres lip butters online lately I decided to whack mine out and start using it more. After 2 weeks I'm now hooked on it!

On the skin, as you can see from the photo, it's very hard to see and would give the impression that this product would be colourless on the lips. However, as you can see in the other photo, it is a gorgeous milky pink colour once applied. It is very subtle and I am loving it as my go-to lip product for work days. However, although lovely, the colour is not why I am raving about this product. The reason I love it so flippin' much is because it is simply the most hydrating lip balm I've ever used! It feels wonderful on the lips and not at all heavy or sticky, yet manages to provide moisture for hours on end.

I am now looking up on the internet to see which colour to buy next. My friend bought Wild Rose at the same time as me, and it is a great berry shade, however I am not really intersted in that one. I was thinking perhaps Quince or Pomegranate? What would you guys recommend?

June Empties 2012

I found June to be a very slow month in terms of finishing products. I was quite surprised to open my basket this morning and see there was 6 empties in there - it's a miracle there is that many!

Anyway, enough rambling, here are the products I used up in June...

  • Garnier Fresh Essentials Eye Make-Up Remover (repurchased)
  • Cutex Nourishing Nail Polish Remover (repurchased)
  • Radox Relax Lavender Shower Gel
  • Dr Weil for Origins Mega Mushroom Face Cream (repurchased)
  • Sure Bright Fragrance Collection Roll On (dislike!)
  • The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I thought I should mention that I have recently started a new full time job, and therefore my blog might be taking a backseat for a while because my spare time has dramatically decreased. I already miss part time work - wah!

MAC Viva Glam V Lipstick

MAC Viva Glam V is the most recent addition to my lipstick collection and I can't believe how much I love it - I never thought I would see the day I liked a brown lipstick! For me, brown toned lipsticks always felt a bit out of date and something I would never dream of wearing.

Hand swatch:

I have found that Viva Glam V looks like a wonderful natural nude on the lips - not too pale, not too dark, just very natural looking. It definitely has a hint of pinkness to it once applied, which is what makes it more wearable in my opinion.
The Lustre formula means it is pretty sheer, a little glossy and has some slight shimmer to it. It's not my favourite finish by any means, but it is the kind of formula which is good in a lipstick that you want to just throw on in a rush or top up without looking in the mirror. I find that although sheer, if you build it up you can get it to look pretty opaque in no time.
