Updated: Daily Foundation Routine

Hey everyone. Can't apologise enough for how slack I've been with my blog recently.. but I'm trying to make an effort now that I'm settling into a nice routine with uni.

My new daily foundation routine consists of 3 fairly new products I've bought. So far, I love them all!

YSL Top Secrets (primer): I bought this because I got given a free sample and absolutely adored it. My housemate had the full size version and I had 'primer envy' (LOL!) and went out and bought it. Pricey but worth every penny, such a nice primer. I don't need a day moisturiser now I have this, it makes my skin feel moisturised and it provides a nice velvety soft finish to apply my foundation on top.

Clinique Superbalanced Foundation (oil free) :  I basically wanted a lighter foundation for the day, as much as I love MAC Studio Fix Fluid it dries your skin out if you wear it too frequently, and that's just what I've been doing recently. Superbalanced is the first Clinique foundation I've tried, and I decided to go for it because Clinique is a brand I know and trust, plus I have heard good things of their foundations - in particular Superfit. I didn't get Superfit because the assistant thought Superbalanced was the best for my skin. I got the shade 27 Alabaster (N), after being matched up.
I am loving this at the moment because it blends so easily and takes me 2 minutes.. thats even using a foundation brush, which I will talk about next!

Benefit Foundation Brush: This is the only Benefit brush I own, I am not that huge a fan of Benefit - I like bits and pieces but I'm not stark raving made about them. I got this brush after the MA used it on me to apply a face product (lord knows what) before I got my brows waxed last week. I really liked the feel of it, and the short handle - so easy to pop in my make-up bag.
So far, I prefer this to any other MAC foundation brush I've used. It doesn't leave me so 'brush mark streaky' if that makes sense.

Has your foundation routine changed now the seasons are changing? I know I definitely needed to get a colour rematch - my tan has faded now :(

Feeling Blue

Hey everyone.. so I'm back! I have been away to stay with my friend in Guernsey, moved into my new university house and settled in. Internet is being set up this week, but for now I'm using the internet that belongs to our friends in the house opposite :)

A few days ago I was playing around and came up with 2 similar blue looks - seeing as I wasn't going anywhere it didn't matter that each eye didn't completely match.

I used 3 main colours: MAC Shadestick in Sharkskin (thickly lined eyes with this), MAC e/s in Deep Truth (over the shadestick), and MAC e/s in Steamy.

Just wanted to blog these looks because I never normally manage to get blue eye make-up to work with my eyes but I love both eyes here :)

Hope you all had a good Monday,

New Perfume Love.. & a few things

Hello everyone.  I'm not one to collect perfumes, I always stick to what I like.. Chanel :)
So for me, this is a rarity to buy a new perfume, and what's even more shocking is that it is a celebrity perfume!

Paris Hilton Can Can is a gorgeous, sweet smelling perfume that has incredible lasting power. I sprayed it on Friday evening, and I could still smell it on myself on Saturday morning - exactly the kind of perfume I like!

If you get a chance to give this a sniff at your local perfume counter then go for it.. it's smells wonderful!

Ok so a few things to say..

1: I move into my new uni house tomorrow and then I am going to Guernsey to stay with one of my friends untill Friday so I won't be blogging.
2: The internet is currently not set up at my uni house so who knows when I will be able to blog next :/
3: Changed the name of my blog AGAIN because I have recently found about 3 other varied  'shopaholic anonymous' blogs so hopefully this name will last. It's after a MAC product I'm sure you all know and love.. :)
4: I am now a proud owner of an Apple Macbook so I am able to record and edit videos now woop woop keep an eye out :)

Speak soon guys,

FREE Giorgio Armani Foundation (UK only)

Hey guys.. just a little post to let you all know that in the latest edition of Grazia magazine (the one with Jennifer Aniston on the front) there is a voucher for 3 free foundations from Giorgio Armani.

The magazine says "one will be the Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk UV Foundation, and the other two will be to suit different occasions."

I, unfortunately, can't use it as I'm not near any of the counters but I thought a lot of you London, Dublin or Manchester gals might be interested!

Favourite Lip Combo of the moment!

At the moment I am loving YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in 07 Lingerie Pink with Chanel Lipgloss in Astral placed over the top. It tones it down a little but still looks pink and girly :) plus adds a little bit of sparkle (but not too much, it isn't tacky looking!)

What is your current favourite lip combination?

My Skincare Regime

So this is my current skin care regime. I have seen quite a few videos and posts on this recently and I enjoy watching/reading them so this is my contribution!

Before I started using the Clinique 3 Step Skincare System I never really had a skincare routine.. when I started using it I saw drastic improvements in my skin. Now I tend to stick to the first 2 parts but use different moisturisers as I feel Cliniques gel isnt moisturising enough, and their moisturiser is too greasy for my skin.

1. First I wash my face with Clinique's Mild Facial Wash
2. Then I tone with Clinique Clarifying Loton (I'm a number 2 which is Combination Dry, but this will vary depending on your skin type - if you go to a Clinique counter they will test you and find yours)
3. I am currently moisturising with Oil of Olay's Beauty Fluid. It isn't the greatest and I don't plan to continue the use of this for long, but it provides a nice matte base for foundation. I also change this step up with Neutragina Oil Free Moisturiser if I feel my skin needs more moisture.

1. First I use Clinique 'Take The Day Off' balm which removes all make-up, including waterproof mascara and eyeliner.
2. Then I wash my face with Clinque Mild Facial Wash.
3. Tone with Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2
4. I then apply YSL Hydra/Protect Intense Nourishing Creme - this is a wonderful moisturiser, which I recommend highly, if you can justify the price tag!

If a spot appears or is visible under the surface, I ALWAYS apply a thick dot of Sudocrem to clean skin. I even apply this 5 minutes before applying foundation. This dries up spots wonderfully for me. I have heard it works wonders for other people too, but then others not so well. But at such a cheap price tag, it is worth a try!

Let me know if you do a post on skin care, as I said.. I love these posts!

I'm going out for dinner with my best friend and her mum tonight, hope you all have a wonderful Saturday evening.

Reading festival 2009 - photos, make-up I took..

Hello everyone, sorry I haven't blogged properly in ages and I've just (well yesterday evening) got back from Reading festival and thought I'd share some snaps and tell you what make-up I took.

As it's a festival, I know you should sort of embrace the mud and be sort of au naturel .. but I had to take some make-up..

I chose
YSL Touche Eclat
MAC Eyelash curlers
L'oreal Voluminous x5 Mascara in Carbon Black
MAC Powerpoint eyeliner in Engraved
Chanel Lipgloss in Astral
MAC Naked Honey Skin Salve

and that was it :) pretty basic and did the job! Not going to lie, I did miss my foundation though.

And here's a couple of my photos :) no artist/band photos because they aren't all that great or interesting.

Above - Monday morning, the aftermath of a crazy weekend!
Hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend,
I promise to blog asap ... I have some things lined up!
